I have a couple months now into the Artist's Way Book. And withing the weekly tasks there's this Artist Date, which is 1-2 hours a week to just let yourself play: go to the park and collect leaves, use a musical instrument, listen to music while drawing, anything to nurture your creative self and inner artist.
And living with the fast paced life, productivity and efficiency focused lifestyle, I cannot tell you how refreshing it was to just play. To just let myself play without thinking about the outcome, but flow, flow just for fun.
Your article reminded me a lot of these feeling and moment. Doing things just to enjoy them. What a crazy concept 😜
I keep coming back to write poetry. I don't even know why. I haven't romanticised it, or ever strived to be a poet. But for some reason, it's the medium that allows me free rein to play in the unknown and deconstruct the known. I'm still a novice, but it's fun because I'm not trying to prove myself as a poet.

Thank you for this article ! I needed to read this.
And your playlist is great. I love listening it while painting :))
This is such a lovely idea! I can’t wait to hear the progress update on the music

Great article. Work towards bridging the gap between your actions and who you want to be. The rest is noise.
I am truly tone-deaf with no rhythm and it brings me immense joy to play the guitar and sing— neighbors be damned. Love this post!
